Little Quilters

I've been thinking about the new little quilter here and thought he might like to see what another little boy had fun making "once upon a time."

I use this little Froggy Nine Patch as my computer mousepad. My son made it when he was 7 years old. Sewing these nine little squares together on the machine was enough to satisfy any quilting aspirations he might have had. What does he recall from his brief foray into quiltmaking? The frog stitch. That's what you do when you "rip-it."

  2. Saw your post on Home Spun Living...What an adorable frog quilt! I just love frogs...probably stems back from earlier childhood when the 1st-the original-the real handmade frog beanie bag toys were made. I think I was in the 2nd grade, & our teachers let us put them on our desks...gosh I hope it was the 2nd grade, & not middle school!

  4. That was the Billy quilt! In second grade we got to take turns taking Billy the beanbag frog home and we were supposed to add some sort of posession to his bag. I insisted on making a quilt (block) but you convinced me not to give it away. I have no idea what I ended up putting in instead. It pretty much sat in your sewing room for years until you finished it on your new machine.
