Applique Hearts

There were some really bad looking fabrics in the early 1980's when I made this quilt (or maybe I had really bad taste). Many of my early projects look so dated now. There's no need to check the label for a date ~ those calicoes scream 1980!

  1. Oh they're so so sweet and pretty. I love them. They really DO NOT scream 1980. Lovely work and pretty pretty hearts.

    What a snuggly quilt.

  2. They may be dated - they may be ugly - and they may scream 80's =- but they still make lovely quilts! I love all the little hearts. I've run across lots and lots of similar scraps while making my crumb chaos quilts.

  3. I love this quilt...oh the fabrics are just so fun to look at.
I like that quilts show their age to us by the style and fabric choices.
To me it lets us know how much we have grown as quilters!
I really enjoy seeing your quilts. You must have some collection of quilts. Each quilt is a treasure to you I bet.

  4. This quilt is gorgeous, the fabrics are perfect and today we are looking for these as vintage fabrics that we can't seem to find, because they are expensive repros now. I know at least 80 quilters who would gladly take that quilt off your hands, you dont know what you have.

  7. Hey, I know some of those fabrics! They are in my quilts, to! Your hearts are charming... looks like a good project to tote around with you and stitch on whenever you have time. Thanks for sharing it!
