Tickled Pink!

Hello everyone. What could possibly be sweeter on a birthday than cake and ice cream? How about this pink and white confection from my buddy Barb? It's the latest in a series of birthday quilts she's made for me over the years.

I'm tickled pink with this Log Cabin variation known as Courthouse Steps. The way the fabrics are arranged reminds me of French pastries stacked in a patisserie window.

Et voila!

Barb must have had the same idea because look what she put on the back of the quilt -- a luscious toile depicting Parisienne advertising labels. Tres magnifique!

Wouldn’t this make a fine centerpiece for a dolly picnic or tea party?

Ooh la la, there were treats from other friends as well! Terri baked a tray of mini cupcakes that were moist, chocolatey, and way too easy to pop into my mouth whole. Linda brought pink peppermint ice cream, not only a perfect accompaniment to the cake, but it also made a picture perfect prop.

Aren't my friends the sweetest? They sure made this birthday special!
